COVID-19 Guidelines

TUSC's COVID-19 Protocols were last updated in October 2021.

The safety of our club's players, coaches, volunteers and their respective families is paramount. TUSC's protocols and procedures were created in collaboration with the Trumbull Health Department and Trumbull Nursing Department. They closely align to the recommendations and guidelines from the CDC, CT DPH, CIAC and CJSA.

UPDATES FOR FALL 2021 SEASON
- Adults should perform a health check of all youth players and self-check for themselves prior to attending any TUSC soccer-related activities. If an individual is sick or exhibiting any symptoms of COVID-19, PLEASE STAY HOME.
- OUTDOOR SOCCER ACTIVITIES: whether vaccinated or unvaccinated, masks are not required however players, coaches, volunteers, officials and spectators may continue to wear one at their discretion.
- INDOOR SOCCER ACTIVITIES: whether vaccinated or unvaccinated, masks are required.
- PCR testing is preferred vs. "rapid" testing. Any test results that come back as positive, including "rapid" tests that are later confirmed to be a false positive with a negative PCR test, are still considered a positive result. Individuals who tests positive will be subject to the appropriate quarantine protocols.
- Quarantine rules remain in place for any individuals who test positive for COVID-19 and/or for any individuals who are directly exposed to a positive case. The quarantine protocols are as follows:

1) Positive case - whether vaccinated or unvaccinated, the minimum quarantine is 10 days. Individuals may return after 10 days if symptom-free and fever free for 24 hours (with no fever reducing medication).  No test is required but individuals should continue to be monitored for symptoms.

2) Direct exposure (Vaccinated) - no quarantine is required provided the individuals remain asymptomatic after close contact with a known COVID-19 case. Individuals may fully participate provided that a mask is worn until receiving a negative COVID-19 test taken on day 3 or later. If no test is taken, a mask must be worn for 14 days.

3) Direct exposure (Unvaccinated) - individuals must quarantine for a minimum of 7 days with a negative test taken after day 5 or later and remain asymptomatic. If no test is taken, the quarantine is 14 days.

4) Vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals who experience COVID-19 symptoms after close contact with a known COVID-19 case will quarantine for 10 days (with a negative test between days 7 and 10) or 14 days without a test.
