COVID-19 Guidelines

These protocols were made based on recommendations and guidelines from the CDC to protect our club, its volunteers, players, and their families.

Guidelines are continually changing, and we will send emails with any changes made/adjusted.

GENERAL GUIDANCE:

  • Sign-in tables will be cleaned prior to each try-out
  • TUSC coaches and volunteers will be required to wear masks
  • Every person will be required to clean his/her hands with readily accessible hand sanitizer
  • Hand sanitizers will be present at sign-in table(s)
  • Registration via the TUSC website is required prior to try-out date. Walk-ins will be asked to return to their cars and register on-line through our website (www.trumbullunited.com)
  • Sign-in and name tags will be managed and by TUSC staff only

OUR PLAYERS SAFETY IS OUR TOP PRIORITY

  • “Six- Feet-Safe” is required during the check-in process
  • Each try-out will be limited to the amount of players allowed as per State of CT Phase 2 guidelines
  • Parents are to check for fevers before sending their child to tryouts. If a player has a fever of 100.4 degrees or higher, they should not attend the session
  • Social-Distancing is required upon entering and exiting the field
  • Players and parents/guardians should practice proper hygiene, washing hands frequently with soap and water or hand sanitizer before and after try-outs. Cover coughs and sneezes with tissues or sleeves, do not use your hands.  Do not touch you face (eyes, nose, mouth with unwashed hands)
  • Communal balls will be used and will be sanitized before and after each use; players are not to bring their own ball
  • Practice physical distancing on the sidelines.  When sitting on the sidelines you should be 6’ from the next player.  Your belongings should remain in your space when not in use.
  • Bring your own equipment (water bottle, cleats, GK gloves (if required), shin guards).  Do not touch anyone else’s equipment as sharing will not be permitted
  • Wash and sanitize your equipment before and after each try-out.
  • No group celebrations, hugs, handshakes, fist bumps, etc.
  • No cellphones will be allowed. If a parent must send a child to try-outs with a cell phone in their bag, it must be in a sealed Ziploc bag. Phones are breeding grounds for spreading germs.
  • NO FOOD ALLOWED.
  • All water bottles must be properly labeled with the players name.

DROP OFF AND PICK-UP

  • One parent should come to the try-out with his/her player and check in
  • At check-in the player’s temperature will be taken and given hand sanitizer
  • Parents should then return to their cars
  • Players will be brought to the field by TUSC volunteers
  • Once try-outs are complete, players will again be given hand sanitizer.  Parent can come and pick up his/her player
  • We ask that parents/guardians do not congregate around the field after try-outs
  • Please pick-up your players and return to your cars

PARENTS:

  • Ensure that your child is healthy before coming to try-outs
  • Take your child’s temperature prior to try-outs. The average normal body temperature is 98.6F.  A temperature over 100.4F most often means you have a fever caused by an infection or illness
  • If your child has any symptoms, even mild ones, public health urges you to stay home and isolate until:
  •   You have had no fever for at least 72 hours (without the use of medicine) AND
  • Other symptoms (cough, shortness of breath) have improved AND
  • At least 7 days have passed since your symptoms first appeared.
  • Anyone in your household that you have had close contact with (within 6 feet for approximately 10 minutes) should self-quarantine for 14 days, even if you have not been tested for COVID-19
  • Notify the club immediately if your child has become sick
  • Ensure that your child has a water bottle and their equipment (including Goal Keeper gloves if necessary) are clearly labeled with his/her name
  • Ensure your child’s personal equipment, cleats, ball, shin guards etc. are cleaned and sanitized before and after every training
  • Be sure your child has necessary sanitizer with them at every session

WHO SHOULD NOT COME TO TRYOUTS:

  • Any player feeling ill should stay home (fever, coughing, sneezing, runny nose, etc.)
  • Any player with a family member who is ill should stay home
  • Any player who knowingly might have been in contact with someone with COVID-19 should stay home
  • Anyone who feels like they cannot comply with all procedures should also stay home

We are excited for our try-outs and for our players to return to the filed, but we must insist that everyone take a serious and cautious approach. We ALL want to stay safe & well!
