TU Tryouts - Important Information

To all Parents:

With our 2nd day of tryouts starting tonight, we wanted to emphasize a few VERY important parts of our guidelines that were all distributed ahead of your arrival at tryouts.  We please ask for your 100% adherence to these as they are in line with state and local guidelines as well.

We have just completed our first two days of tryouts and we are excited to see the players and coaches out on the field again doing what they love.  We appreciate your patience with our procedures as we need to ensure that safety for our families and coaches continue to be a top priority as we aim to play again this coming fall.  We hope the registration and check-in process has been straight forward for you and we will continue with our check-in under the amphitheater for the rest of the tryout process.

Due to uncertain weather, we would request that all families remain close.  We will play in the rain, but we will not play in thunder and lightning.  There are thunderstorms in the forecast so we will closely monitor and communicate via email with any changes.

1.  We ask that all parents wear a face mask while escorting their child to check-in and to the fields and return to their cars while the tryout is going on.  If you are walking around the grounds for any reason, please keep your face mask on at all times.  This was part of the guidelines that were part of our registration documentation. While we all know you want to watch your kids play, for the safety of all of us, it is preferred you do not congregate outside of your vehicles, on the fence or in the parking lot.

2.  As similar to Day 1, no bags, balls, or cellphones will be allowed on the field.  Only water and goalkeeper gloves will be permitted on Day 2 of tryouts.  Please also bring a black jersey/shirt as Day 2 of tryouts will include scrimmaging.  Players should leave their black shirt with their water on the sidelines.

3.  If your player is exhibiting any symptoms (cold, fever, shortness of breath), has come into contact with anyone with COVID-19 or traveled outside of CT to any of the restricted states as listed in the Governor's executive order, PLEASE DO NOT COME to tryouts.  You can reach out to the tryout committee at [email protected] to arrange an alternate tryout date/time.

Details on the latest CT travel advisory information can be found here, which also lists the states included in the travel advisory:

We know these are trying times but, if we all do our part, we will be in the best position to provide a safe environment for all of our families and coaches as we get ready for the fall season.

Thank you
